Giuseppe Spota

Giuseppe Spota born in Bari (09-07-1983), Italy, studied at the dance school of his city and at Scuola del Balletto di Toscana under the direction of Cristina Bozzolini.
Since 2002 he was dancing with various ensembles like Balletto di Roma, Gruppo Nuova Danza Treviso, Notre Dame de Paris-the musical- and with Compagnia Aterballetto under the artistic direction of Mauro Bigonzetti.

After dancing for one year 2009/2010 with Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart he joined the ensemble of Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden (D) from 2010/11 until 2013/14 .
Among others he danced choreographies by Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Paul Lightfoot/Sol Leon, Stephan Thoss, Christian Spuck, Itzik Galili, Hans van Manen, Medhi Walerski, Eric Gauthier, Martino Müller, Mauro Bigonzetti, Fabrizio Monteverde.
In 2011 he was awarded the German Theatre Prize THE FAUST as ‚best dancer’ for his interpretation of Stephan Thoss’s Blaubart.
In the same year he won the second price at the International Choreographic Competition Hannover.
During the Festivals ApuliArte 2012 in Barletta (I) Giuseppe Spota won the prize of Premio Internazionale ApuliArte for his foreign brilliant archievement.
From 2013 he is a freelance choreographer working with Aterballetto, National Theater Mannheim, Theater Regensburg, Staatstheater Mainz, Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Junior Balletto di Toscana, Agora Coaching Project RE.
Currently he is also working as assistant at the National Theater Mannheim under the direction of Stephan Thoss.
