Helena de Madeiros

Helena de Medeiros studied in the London Fashion School and at Escola Superior de Artes e Design do Porto. Since 1990, she has solo exhibitions of paintings and many of her works are in private and municipal collections. The artist is represented in several art galleries, among which are Saatchi Art (Los Angeles, EUA), Galeria Emergentes dst (Braga,Portugal), ShairArt (Braga,Portugal), Galeria de Arte P55 (Porto,Portugal), Galeria Árvore (Porto,Portugal), Galeria Gaudi (Madrid).
Helena de Medeiros paintings have an important dialogue with the work of Costume Designer, also performed by the artist, who has been dedicated to Contemporary Ballet. In a carrer of more than two decades, she cooperated with renowned artistic directors ( like Eric Gauthier, Gradimir Pankov, Iracity Cardoso, Louis Robitaille, Mauro Bigonzetti, Richard Wherlock, Vasco Wellemkamp, Xin Peng Wang) and several world-renowned dance companies, such as Ballett Basel (Suiça), Ballet Dortmund (Alemanha), Ballet Gulbenkian (Portugal), Ballet Hannover (Alemanha), Balé da Cidade de São Paulo (Brasil), Companhia Nacional de Bailado (Portugal), Fondazione de la Danza Aterballetto (Itália), Gauthier Dance / Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart (Alemanha), Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal (Canadá), Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal (Canadá), National Ballet of China (China), Teatro di San Carlo (Itália), Teatro Municipal Santiago de Chile (Chile).
