Teatro alla Scala | Mauro Bigonzetti | Alessandro Grisendi | Marco Noviello | Carlo Cerri | Maurizio Millenotti
To open the new Ballet Season, La Scala will be raising the curtain on an absolute première, to a world populated by the characters of Perrault’s celebrated fairy tale, which has long captivated the imaginations of readers and artists. A new Cinderella enters La Scala’s repertoire: the melodic and descriptive richness of the extraordinary music of Prokofiev, the fantastic and fabulous universe, the plot, full of episodes and dynamics between the protagonists have stimulated the aesthetics, the musicality of Mauro Bigonzetti and his personal stylistic vision for a creation tailored to the dancers of La Scala, which follows the narrative trail of the tale and revels in the musical variety of the countless dances and leitmotifs that emerge from the score. Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Fairies of the Seasons, the Fairy Godmother, the Ugly Sisters, the Stepmother … set in no particular place and time , but in all places and times, the figures arise from the notes of Prokofiev and inhabit a visually evocative but not abstract space, figurative but not didactic.
